random post

Hi everyone!  I just picked several photos I took in this semester. I spent several weekends in NYC, Big Bear Lake and cities around LA, and also went to Mexico for spring break. In this blog, I will introduce to you some cameras I used.

1. First and the most important apparatus I want to introduce is : Dji Mavic Air.

As tall and wide as a smartphone when folded, the Mavic Air is an ultraportable device with a revolutionary multidimensional folding design. The most portable DJI drone to house a 3-axis gimbal, it can shoot 8K Sphere panoramas, HDR photos, 4K 30 fps 100 Mbps video, and slow-motion video in 1080p at 120 fps.
 $ 799-$999

I used this when I traveled to Mexico. We used it in many spots and found it sometimes can be super helpful and can take really fancy photos. However, as it is an air drone, some public places wouldn't allow you to use it.  Here is the picture we took.

2. Second one is Ricoh GR2.
I have to say it is the best digital camera I have used so far. Considering its price, I think it is powerful if you want to use it to take street photos.  The Ricoh GR II is really popular among street photographers. Based in part off of the classic Ricoh GR point and shoot film cameras, it can take really good photos. It has a special mode called: Daido Moriyama.Here are some photos I took with this camera:
$ around 700-800

3. Third one is Gopro. I don't have it but I borrow one when we play some scuba diving in Cancun. I have to say, it is not as powerful as you think. It upset me because you can't control your face when facing the camera because you are doing something else!  We took around 300 pictures underwater at that time, only 1 or 2 is ok to save, others are just so.....indescribable. Maybe Gopro is more useful in others activities.

4. Fourth one is Cannon EOS 70D.
This one took me around 1200 dollars, so it's not a kind of entry level camera, but it is also not one of those advanced full-frame cameras. For beginners, I think it's really nice to have it to practice your skills.

Have a good weekend!

  2. The photos look very nice! They're very artsy. I like that you included a lot of photos throughout the post. I really am not that knowledgeable in this particular field. You make me want to learn more about the different types of cameras designed for different purposes.

  3. This was an interesting read. I've recently been looking to buy a camera it was helpful reading what you had to say about some of the cameras you have used. I also like how you included photos-- it gave me a good visualization of what type of photos come out of each camera.

  4. Thank you for giving us an overview of the wide variety of different cameras. I enjoyed see the various angles and photos you took with different cameras. It was nice to see how you can see the difference in quality between different cameras. I think the Dji Mavic Air is probably the coolest camera I've seen so far. I will keep this in mind when I travel and think twice about buying a camera.

  5. Thank you so much for sharing! WOW to the drone you have- the photo you posted came out wonderful. I would love to see some more photos you took using this device. Where exactly did you buy it from? And is there an app on your phone that allows you to take the photos and later view them? I'd be very interested in learning more about this drone- who knows, maybe I'll buy one for my next trip. :)

    1. There is an app on your phone so you can see the instant image sent back from the drone. that's how you can control it to fly to different place if you have something want to see.lol

  6. WOW! The drone is awesome! Do you control it using a remote, or through your phone? I've never really used a drone before so this is such a cool post.

    1. First, you have to fit your phone into the remote controller. There is an app on your phone so you can see the instant image sent back from the drone.

  9. Wow, you really have a lot of camera equipment. Just like everyone else in the comments, I would also love to have a drone like that. It sounds like you have had the opportunity to travel to quite a few cool places this semester, I'm a little envious!
